Both my sister Lisa and I worked at the Rendezvous while going to school in the 70`s and 80`s. The Wong family were amazingly wonderful employers and I thank them all very much to this day for teaching me such incredible worth ethic`s. We worked hard and on days off would play together as well(baseball) Our Auntie Lucy was the hostess with the mostest, she had bright red hair and a a squeekie laugh, a proper lady!! It was a wonderful time in our lives…thank you Wong family every one of you!!!
There is not one day that goes by where someone doesn't come in from the past to tell me of the Wong Brothers and how wonderful they were.
We had the pleasure of having Lucy Peters, hostess for about 35 years in our dining room recently and as she entered the dining room we were all bowing down to a part of history.
She, along with the other employees are legends in Nanaimo and in the restaurant scene!!
